After a car crash, you’re more than a claim number
Medical appointments, a car you can no longer drive, time off work and calls from an adjuster who wants a recorded statement — the days after a collision are overwhelming. At Erica Chavez Law Trial Attorneys, we take that weight off your shoulders so you can focus on healing while we build the strongest possible case against the at-fault driver and their insurer.
Insurance companies are businesses. Every dollar they pay you is a dollar off their profits, so they look for any reason to blame you, minimize your injuries or rush you into a lowball settlement. We won’t let them get away with it.

What you may be able to recover
Every case is different, but compensation in an auto accident claim can include:
- Medical expenses — emergency care, surgery, therapy, medication and future treatment
- Lost income and reduced ability to earn in the future
- Pain and suffering, emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life
- Property damage and rental or replacement vehicle costs
- Punitive damages in cases involving drunk driving or extreme recklessness
No amount of money can undo what happened to you. Our mission is to make sure you don’t suffer economically, too.
What to do after a car accident
- Get medical care right away. Some injuries — concussions, whiplash, internal injuries — don’t show symptoms for hours or days. Medical records also document your injuries.
- Call the police and make sure an accident report is filed.
- Document everything: photos of the vehicles, the scene, road conditions and your injuries, plus names and numbers of witnesses.
- Don’t give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurance company and don’t sign anything before talking to a lawyer.
- Tell us your story. Your free case evaluation costs nothing and puts our team on your side immediately.
Frequently asked questions
How much is my car accident case worth?
It depends on the severity of your injuries, your medical bills, lost income, the impact on your daily life and the available insurance coverage. We investigate every source of recovery so nothing is left on the table.
Should I accept the insurance company’s first offer?
Usually not. First offers are often made before the full extent of your injuries is known. Once you accept, you typically cannot ask for more. Talk to us before you sign.
How long do I have to file a claim?
Every state sets a deadline (statute of limitations) for injury claims, and some claims against government entities have much shorter notice periods. Contact us as soon as possible so critical deadlines and evidence are not lost.
